Hunger makes everything seems Good

Let's kick start this blog with LAST NIGHT'S DINNER RENDEZVOUS with my best girlfriend M! ;)

April 23 2010

9am - We know we want to eat in Fort Bonifacio. But we have no idea where. And then we both agree it has to be in Burgos Circle.

7pm - I picked M up at Serendra and went to Burgos Circle supposedly wanting to try out the Rue Bourbon which has been catching my eye every time I pass by it.
8pm - Strutted to Rue Bourbon to check it out. I love the concept and place, makes me remember my Japan trip seeing small standing bars in night-happening-places. The place was pretty small - half indoor half outdoor - with two floors. We asked for the menu first before getting a table. The front part of the menu was making me hungrier than I already was (good choices of appetizers and plates to share!) and I was salivating for some mean baby back ribs (hahaha) to find out that there is none on the front page. Oh well (i thought) it might be at the back page... upon turning it over... the back page was basically filled with "drinks". I don't really think our hunger pangs can be satiated over a couple of *_cute_* appetizers and cocktails...

815ish - We were HUNGRY! Choices are not very good ones... You know that feeling that you gotta eat something GOOD or else you can throw a mean bitch fit since you're THAT HUNGRY?! We were getting a load of that and started crossing out the restaurant list along the semi circle enclave of Burgos. We ended up in Rastro (only one left that both of us haven't tried yet... though I have... few years ago in their now-closed branch in Rockwell).

Eating Time - No need for reservations as the second level was pretty much spacey with only 2 tables occupied. We ordered their best selling Paella in half order, Chicken Breast Fillet in a lemon based sauce with buttered vegetables, M's must order - Oyster in Bacon & Cheese. Paella was a YEAH! with rice that's freshly cooked topped with chicken, pork, & seafood. The Chicken Breast was a NAAAH! was quite dry and... and... just plain boring. Oysters in Bacon & Cheese was a surprisingly YEAH! since I never expected it to be cheesy yet retain that oystery-sea-flavor... quite interesting actually.

11pm - Our now full tummy needs some soothing (hahaha e.g. dessert!).
After crossing off a lot of options, we drove over to BHS and upon M's instant craving for the Clash of the Titan's Doughnut, we had dessert at Krispy Kreme. The Clash Doughnut was OUT OF STOCK already much to M's dismay but the kind staff there was actually very sweet and whip out a special one for M! Funny Funny Funny that we both ordered the Choco Doughnut (out of 20 something other choices huh?!?!) and had our drinks. Mine is a regular drip while M went all out and got the Clash Iced Drink!

Always a fun night with M. We planned for upcoming trips *wink* and for our next food trip!
